Alumina is a high-performance technical ceramic that offers high temperature, chemical and corrosion resistance, high levels of hardness and electrical insulation.
Alumina (aluminum oxide Al2O3) is a high-performance technical ceramic that offers high temperature, chemical and corrosion resistance, high levels of hardness and electrical insulation. This material can be 3D printed using the Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology where the part is constructed layer by layer by curing thin layers of slurry with UV-light.
Alumina is widely used in many industries such as aerospace and aeronautics, electronics, defense or chemical industry among many others. It has applications in aerospace for thermal insulation of reentry vehicles, furnaces and refractory industries. In electronics, it is used for its high electrical resistance. Alumina also has medical applications such as hip prothesis thanks to it good biocompatibility and mechanical properties.
